Sven Helbig is one of the main composers of modern international music, with works recorded in renowned labels such as Deutsche Grammophon. The German musician is a regular presence in Portugal, and so he couldn’t not (re)visit our national stages with tracks from his most recent album, Skills, this time for Misty Fest. As a multi-instrumentalist, he combines classical music technique with subtle and experimental electronic music. His works have been performed by renowned artists such as Fauré Quartett (BBC Singers), cellist Jan Vogler, conductor Kristjan Järvi or pianist Olga Scheps. Among the groups playing his music are the London Contemporary Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic and the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. On stage, Helbig has experimented with electronica and percussion alongside several bands, and he collaborates regularly with British pop icons Pet Shop Boys and German industrial metal band Rammstein.
